First ever blog post from the days when I had this blog post on my empower network blog. This is where I started to learn how to blog. Empower Network no longer exists but it served a good purpose. So as I started learning about a skill that I would begin to grow a passion for. I decided to blog about being blessed.
It was fitting that the title
Being blessed in all ways. So, just to let you know that you can blog.
This is where I started out with a blog called, “A blessed day”.
Be Blessed!
Matthew 5:8-9
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
As I am sitting down to write my first post, I asked the Holy Spirit to give me something to write about.
He impressed upon me that there are too many people who are trying to do things on their own and not relying on Him.
When I say “Him,” I’m referring to God the Father.
When it comes to being saved, it doesn’t matter what we do. NOTHING we do can ever be good enough to get into Heaven. We must all repent and ask Jesus to be our Lord and Savior.
How does being blessed relate to being a peacemaker?
Blessed are the Peacemakers. First off, what is a peacemaker? Do you consider yourself a peacemaker? I would say that a peacemaker is a person that has a natural reaction to shun fighting. They would also be someone to step into someone else’s troubles and help them resolve them to end the fighting.
Simple enough.
The second part of that question is a personal question but to that, I would say that there is another qualification, if you will. That qualification would say, do you cause fights with your family, friends, and in your daily work. If so, you need not worry, because you can repent and then pick up and start in being that peacemaker you are destined to be.
You see, being blessed goes hand in hand with being pure in heart and a peacemaker!
I don’t have much in a worldly sense, but when it comes to our eternal lives, I believe and am assured that heaven is my destiny and I would love it if you, too, would be there with me.
What does it mean to be pure in heart?
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Wow!
Can you imagine being able to see God? Nobody has been able to see GOD. NOBODY! Moses is the only person that I can recall ever being close to seeing God and that was a burning bush. At least according to the bible.
In order to really figure out if you are pure in heart (very deep subject matter), you have to delve into a few different scriptures. For the sake of time, I will shorten this up and give you what I think pure in heart means to me.
Pure in heart: Good natured, giving, things you do are for the glory of God, Ulterior motives are not for evil (obviously), and not for your self-gain.
To be completely pure in heart would also mean to me that you are accepting of the fact that Jesus paid the price of our sins on the cross and you are building a relationship with our Creator.
That’s a brief description of what I think these 2 verses mean to me. One thing that has been impressed upon me is that eternity is a very long time. We, as humans, are eternal beings. Hell is real. Heaven is real. (insert trite statement here) Don’t go to HELL!
