Yes, we enjoy checking out live music at different places. Recently we found a place called the Governors Cup in Salem, Oregon located on Court Street. This place is quite the ‘hole in the wall coffee house.
It’s a rare thing to find a coffee house these days unless you’re in a college town. Yes, Salem can be called a college town due to it’s proximity of some smaller community colleges. The larger towns that have major colleges located within it’s boundaries are probably more viable places to have a coffee shop. In any case, this place is pretty small but has great ambiance that goes along with it.
Here’s our view from Friday, the 17th of July, 2015.

If you like music that is upbeat with a couple covers but mostly original songs, you’ll love the Tim Snider Band. They came with only a three piece band but sometimes are a 4 piece with a female singer to add. I also love that Tim does a practice called Looping. It’s a process of playing a few bars of a part and recording it into layers. It’s much like what Jimmy Fallon does with his ipad.
